First appearing in 1904, patented as a 'Blood Circulator', producing up to 5000 vibrations per minute. It was a very popular, yet contoversial device which landed the inventor in prison for medical fraudulence! It still works and is a great talking point.  There is one of these in Amsterdam's infamous museum...
